An Auckland man will have to pay $2075 to the SPCA after a dog he owned was found with an engine hoist chain tied around its neck.
Hans Tiki Tiki appeared in the Auckland District Court yesterday and pleaded guilty to four counts of cruelty under the Animal Welfare Act.
The dog was found with severe fly strike on both ears, had a number of ailments and was infested with fleas.
Tiki Tiki was also disqualified from owning or being in charge of an animal for five years and was ordered to complete 75 hours of community work.
