KEY POINTS:
A Nelson finance firm director is to appear in Nelson District Court tomorrow charged with misappropriating almost $2 million of investors' funds.
The man, 54, turned himself into police last week, The Nelson Mail reports today.
Detective Senior Sergeant Wayne McCoy, of the Nelson CIB, said the man had allegedly misappropriated $1,948,862 from about 40 investors.
The man had spent the weekend contacting investors.
Mr McCoy would not reveal the name of the company because the matter was now before the courts.
