KEY POINTS:
A Nelson investment company finance director will appear in Nelson District Court today accused of stealing nearly $2 million from clients.
The 54-year-old Nelson man turned himself into police last week, the Nelson Evening Mail reported.
Detective Senior Sergeant Wayne McCoy said the man allegedly misappropriated $1,948,862 from 40 investors.
The man was the finance director of an investment company in Nelson.
Mr McCoy said the man had cooperated with police and been in contact with investors.
He would not reveal the name of the company as it was before the court.
The Serious Fraud Office has been informed.
