Wairarapa dairy award contenders have failed to nab any of the top awards at this year's New Zealand Dairy Industry Awards.
Wairarapa finalists Matt and Tracey Honeysett, Rowan McGilvary and Grace Stephenson missed out on the major prizes at the awards ceremony, which was held in the Sky City Hotel in Auckland on Saturday night.
The Honeysetts were competing in the Sharemilker/Equity Farmer category, which was won by Culverden sharemilkers Justin and Melissa Slattery.
However the Kahutara couple did successfully scoop the Federated Farmers Leadership Award.
Rowan McGilvary was competing in the Best Farm Manager category, which was awarded to James Foote, from Miranda, on the Hauraki Plains. The prize for Dairy Trainee was awarded to James Davidson, from Darfield, Canterbury.
