Former James Bond star Sir Sean Connery and Ben Bradlee, the famed editor of the Washington Post during Watergate, will be in Auckland next week for an international conference.
They are members of the international advisory board of Independent News and Media, the global company run by former Lions rugby great Sir Anthony O'Reilly. INM is a significant shareholder in APN, the Australian company which owns the Herald. The board includes Kenneth Clarke, a leading member of Britain's Conservative Party.
The two-day meeting in Auckland coincides with the lead-up to the third All Blacks-Lions rugby test.
