Holidaymakers bound for Fiji have been warned to expect disruptions stemming from the strike by 10,000 public service workers.
The workers' demands include full restoration of their recent 5 per cent civil service pay cut. But interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama says the Government will not cave in to the unions.
The strike began at 8am yesterday, compounding an eight-day strike already begun by the 4000-strong Fiji Nursing Association. Tourism and Transport Forum Australia warned travellers to Fiji to expect inconvenience.
