New Zealanders travelling to Fiji must have six months valid on their passport, Fiji has said.
Fiji Immigration said it was responsding to confusion from some New Zealand travel agents.
New Zealand director of the Fiji Visitors, Bureau Paresh Pant, said travel agents had reported confusion over whether the minimum was six or three months.
Mr Pant said it was up to the travel agent to advise travellers on passport requirements before they left.
Fiji High Commissioner Bal Ram said he had no idea how the confusion came about, as the commission had consistently advised people of the six months requirement.
Travellers with less than six months on their passport could still travel if arrangements were made with Fiji immigration, Mr Ram said.
No travellers had been denied entry.
