New Zealand Sports Drugs Agency executive director Graeme Steel is helping the International Olympic Committee fight drug cheats at the Sydney Olympic Games.
Mr Steel is an IOC medical commission deputy until the Games end.
Every drug test conducted in Sydney must be signed off by the commission, Mr Steel said.
"My job is to recommend them in the doping control station, make sure it is all done properly, and sign it off," he said.
He also attends meetings reporting back the day's events.
