A very special ‘taonga’ (treasure) was delivered to Waitangi today. In the hands of the player named Oceania’s Footballer of the Century, Wynton Rufer, the FIFA U-20 World Cup Winner’s Trophy arrived at the sacred Waitangi Treaty grounds via waka moving across the bay at dawn. This moment marks the beginning of the FIFA U-20 World Cup trophy tour across the country, lasting 25 days and visiting 60 locations.
