Talks continue today on the future of the remains of Moko the bottlenose dolphin.
Ownership of the popular creature's body is at issue, with Mahia and Whakatane the two points of prime interest.
Gisborne, Tologa Bay and Te Kaha are also emerging as possible resting places for at least some of the animal.
Some are suggesting a compromise with his skeleton going on display at Te Kaha. His fleshy remains could then be cremated, to be spread evenly around all the places he visited.
