Embattled Mangere MP Taito Phillip Field will this afternoon meet with his electorate committee to explain his actions.
Mr Field is an independent following his expulsion yesterday from the Labour Party caucus after suggesting that if he was forced out of Labour he might stand against it at the 2008 election.
Mangere electorate chair Tafafunaui Tase Lauese today said the electorate committee would meet with Mr Field at 5pm to hear his side of the story.
It would then meet either tomorrow or on Saturday to discuss what he said.
