KEY POINTS:
Having just launched the new 500, Fiat is considering a number of derivatives to further enhance the range.
A hot 148bhp Abarth 500 has already been confirmed, as has a cabriolet version, but the company is also considering an SUV crossover and a station wagon to compete directly with the Mini Clubman.
The SUV would use a combination of the station wagon's body and the Fiat Panda's four-wheel drive system.
Both possibilities would be based on a longer version of the 500's wheel base, but this would need to be cost effective for Fiat to develop before either could go ahead.
