Festival parking scam stopped

Some cheeky entrepreneurs in Auckland selling carparks they don't own have been spoken to by Police.

The sharp operators were selling car parks on Ivanhoe Road in Western Springs to people attending the Pasifika festival at the nearby stadium, although those selling the spaces do not own the land.

Police say they have dealt with the incident.

The festival was expected to attract 200,000 people. It featured food and music from various Pacific cultures.
