The jinxed Interislander ferry Aratere is again under investigation - after a close encounter in Wellington Harbour with a tanker thought to be carrying highly flammable chemicals.
Maritime Safety Authority spokeswoman Heidi Brook said yesterday that owners Toll Shipping had removed the master from the ship after the latest incident.
The master and first mate are understood to have been involved in a near-grounding at the entrance to Tory Channel last September.
