Fencing: German faces South Korean

German star Ralf Bissdorf won his semifinal in the men's individual foil on Wednesday.

Bissdorf beat Joao Gomes of Portugal 15-11 in the third round, then overcame Frenchman Jean-Noel Ferrari 15-7.

It was a lot closer in the second semifinal, with Kim Young-Ho of South Korea shading Russian Dmitri Chevtchenko 15-14.

The bouts are being held at the Sydney Comvention Centre.
