A man was arrested today after it was alleged an argument between two fencing contractors led to one of them threatening the other with a firearm.
At about 2pm, police were called to a farm house in Te Ohu, Norsewood, Hawke's Bay.
Local police from Norsewood and Dannivirke surrounded the property and an armed offenders squad from Palmerston North was called in.
Just after 3.30pm a 19-year-old man was taken into custody from the farm area, police said. A .22 rifle was recovered from a vehicle.
No shots were fired and the suspect surrendered voluntarily, said Inspector James Taare.
Police are not looking for anyone further in connection with the incident.
