KEY POINTS:
Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman jogger was seriously injured when she was crash-tackled to the ground.
The woman was out running about 6am on Killarney Road, Hamilton, on May 3 when a large, 1.83m-tall man ran up behind her, smashing her to the ground with a rugby-style tackle.
Detective Constable Dion Bennett, of West Hamilton Police, said the woman suffered serious injuries.
"It was completely random. That's why we need witnesses -- so we can see if there was any sort of motive," he said.
The attack took place at a busy time of the morning and someone must have seen either the victim or the offender.
