The trial of the man accused of murdering two Feilding pensioners began in the High Court at Palmerston North today.
David Konia, 52, is charged with murdering Margaret Walden and Ted Ferguson in Feilding last May. This morning a jury of 10 women and two men was selected to hear the case against Konia.
Evidence was expected to begin being heard this afternoon after counsel have made submissions in chambers to Justice Ronald Young on the admissibility of evidence.
The trial is set down for three weeks.
