Wairarapa has been invited to join the discussion about New Zealand's constitution.
The invitation has been issued by the Constitutional Advisory Panel, an independent advisory group listening to, recording and considering people's views on the constitution.
The panel will look into the status of the Bill of Rights Act 1990, electoral issues such as the size of Parliament, Maori representation, the role of the Treaty of Waitangi in constitutional arrangements, and whether New Zealand should have a constitution in a single document.
Information packs and meeting toolkits will be available in February to help individuals, organisations and communities hold their own constitutional conversations.
The panel will also have a website where people can see videos, make comments, and have discussions about constitutional issues.
