Another beautiful weekend of sunshine and not much wind at Featherston golf club.
Starting the weekend off the Featherston women played the first round of Riverside Cup on Friday at Riversdale against Eketahuna.
Playing against a strong Eketahuna team the women won a hard-fought 3 to 2, nice way to start the season.
Saturday was the first round of men's interclub, the seventh division played at home against Mornington and in close played matches went down 8 to 7.
The 11th division played away to Titahi Bay. Most of the Featherston team had not played at this tricky course before and went down 12 to 3. Sunday saw another day of sunshine for our normal competition day. This was also round one of Benton Cup and Presidents Cup first qualifying round. The day was medal round and the two winners were Allan Bradley and Tony Taylor with nett rounds of 64. In the women Sharon Harper won with a nett 66.
Dates to remember
This Sunday will be first rounds of Marquis Shield for the men Martinborough at Masterton and the first round of Tilson Salver for the women at Riverdale and Castlepoint.
