Police have appealed for help to find a man who went missing on his way to work a week ago.
The disappearance of Peter James Currie, 39, was completely out of character, Detective Nicholas Davenport from Waitakere police said today.
He was last seen on May 4 early in the evening when he left his Massey home in west Auckland to go to work as a machine operator.
He had not been at work for a week and had not contacted his employer,
Mr Davenport said Mr Currie drew some money from a money machine in west Auckland, at 5pm on May 5 before driving off.
"Mr Currie's disappearance is described by his family as completely out of character," Mr Davenport said.
"Our concerns for his safety and well-being are mounting. Routine inquiries are continuing throughout Auckland."
He described Mr Currie as a caucasian of slim build and 160cm tall. He was clean shaven, wore glasses and had a pale complexion possibly caused by an inadequate diet.
He may be driving a gray two-tone 1990 Nissan Prairie motor vehicle, registration number YW2475. Police said the car was in poor has white paint marks down the left rear side.
