Fears are growing for the safety of a 73-year-old man missing since last week.
Stefan Jensen, who suffers from mild dementia, disappeared on Friday afternoon from a rural property on Geraghty Rd in Pukekawa, 24km southeast of Pukekohe, where he had been staying with family.
His family believe he may have headed to Auckland where he had connections in Queen Street.
They began searching for him immediately they realised he had gone missing before calling in police a couple of hours later.
Sergeant Jeff Waldron from Pukekohe Police told NZPA search teams continued looking for him today. but there have been no positive sightings.
He said that Mr Jensen was unfamiliar with the area and concerns were mounting because he was not dressed for the conditions.
Mr Jensen is described as about 1.78m tall, medium build, broad shouldered, and bald with a grey moustache. He was wearing a navy coloured turtle neck jersey with a black and grey pattern on the front, navy trousers, and black shoes.
