Fears are mounting for the safety of a missing German tourist who had not made contact with family in months.
Police say they are concerned for Anja Schulze, who arrived in New Zealand on December 7.
She travelled through the North Island, and on January 29 took a ferry from Wellington to Picton with a fellow traveller.
On February 2, she communicated with a friend in Switzerland and nobody has heard from her since.
Police ask anyone with information about Ms Schulze's whereabouts to contact their local police station.
