The family of a man missing from his Auckland home for more than a week is growing increasingly concerned for him, police said today.
John Meldrum, 58, was last seen at his home in Henderson in the early hours of October 25 after having drinks with a neighbour.
Constable Mike Simmons said police were following up a couple of leads, but Mr Meldrum's whereabouts remained a mystery.
"He still hasn't been seen or heard from by us or his family," he said.
"The family is getting more and more worried about him."
Mr Meldrum was described as being 1.65m tall, of medium build, and with grey hair on a balding head.
His bank account had not been touched.
Mr Simmons said the disappearance was out of character for Mr Meldrum, who lived with his son, and police were hoping for public help with their inquiry.
"We're hoping people have seen him around and about," he said.
"It's possible he's wandering around the streets somewhere for whatever reason."
