Yoga coach Nikki Ralston believes in surrounding herself and her clients with good energy.
Filling her yoga studio with artworks and meaningful gifts helps inspire Nikki Ralston to empower clients with The Ralston Method, a unique blend of yoga, massage and coaching developed around techniques taught by her father, who recently passed away. Living with her mum and 8-year-old daughter, Ahlianah - the light of her life - motivates and inspires her as well. "There is always laughter and imaginary games going on in our household. Never a dull moment!" she says.
The delightful and multitalented Amanda Billing created these flower hearts for me when I opened the studio. Their bright colours make me smile every time I look at them. They remind me to have the courage to share myself open-heartedly. That's a pretty good reminder to have on the wall.
2. Jewellery stand
This is where I display the gorgeous Halo Smith range in my studio. I'm mildly obsessed with skulls and stag horns. I love the mix of earthy raw crystals with beautiful designs and clean lines.
3. Hannah Jenson skull painting
Not only is Hannah Jenson my gorgeous friend and fellow yogi, but she is uber-talented. Each piece is carved or engraved through layers of paint adding texture, depth and craftsmanship. The skull reminds me that we fill the empty scaffold of our body, minds and life with meaning, whatever we choose that to be.
I discovered these when I opened the studio and had the vision to create a living wall. I designed and installed it myself. They are mostly made from recycled plastic bottles made into a heavy duty, felt-like fabric, and are super-easy to water. I love the feeling they give to the studio and they thrive with all the natural light and good energy created in yoga classes.
5. Himalayan salt lamp
This lamp was given to me by a dear friend not long before she jetted off to travel the world. I love its soft, calming light and the negative ions that it emits. Just like that feeling of being near the ocean, it not only calms you, but reduces air pollutants and "electro smog" produced by the environment.
