The 32-year-old man charged with careless driving causing death after an accident that killed his 3-year-old son near Cromwell last week was yesterday granted a court transfer to Auckland.
Ashish Macwan, of Auckland, was granted a transfer from the Alexandra District Court to the Manukau District Court, after he intimated a guilty plea, Alexandra police said.
His son, Aarush, died after the van his father had parked plunged into Lake Dunstan last Thursday.
Macwan was released on bail to appear in the Manukau court on May 11.
