The father of a four-year-old girl who fractured her skull falling out of a moving caravan in Gisborne has been charged with careless driving causing injury.
The man, 29, appeared in Gisborne District Court for a bail hearing today.
The charge relates to an incident on Wednesday night in which the girl fell out of a caravan being towed by a car.
The man cannot be named as he is facing an unrelated sex charge.
Judge Tony Adeane refused the man bail bail on the careless driving charge, remanding him in custody until June 8.
The man did not enter a plea.
