Father arrested over attack

A father who allegedly hit his 14-year-old daughter over the head with an axe handle has been arrested.

Police said the 33-year-old went to a Tikipunga house about 10.40pm on Wednesday and confronted the girl, who was talking to two friends on the footpath.

The man allegedly punched her in the ribs, hit her with the axe handle and slapped her in the face before pulling her off her bike.
