KEY POINTS:
A 55-year-old man had to receive a life-saving blood transfusion after he and his son were attacked by two men in an Auckland bottle store.
Avondale CIB are looking for two men who seriously wounded the man and his 21-year-old son in their Three Kings Liquor Store on Mt Albert Rd, about 9pm yesterday.
The offenders, described as Polynesian, were confronted by the 21-year-old when they tried to leave the store without paying for their alcohol, Detective Sergeant Geoff Baber said.
The man received a serious and deep cut to his face while his father was cut about the face and arms, requiring a blood transfusion.
The offenders, thought to be in their late teens or early 20s, left empty-handed in a maroon Toyota Camry-type vehicle.
Police are examining the scene today.
Police would like to hear from anyone who has information about those involved or who may have seen some of the activity at or near the Three Kings Liquor Store.
