Fatal truck crash blocks main road in Bay of Plenty

A truck driver died in a crash that has blocked State Highway 2 in eastern Bay of Plenty this morning.

Police said the truck crashed at Waioeka, on the road between Opotiki and Gisborne, shortly after midnight.

The police, fire and ambulance services were called to the scene.

Both lanes of SH2 would be blocked until the truck had been moved.
