A 49-year-old man has died in a motorcycle crash on private property in Charleston, Buller.

Emergency services were called to the property near State Highway 6 at 5.27pm, a police spokeswoman said.

"The motorcyclist was on a track on the property at the time – no other vehicles were involved," she said.

The Serious Crash Unit is investigating.
