KEY POINTS:
A woman has died after the car she was driving collided head-on with a truck on State Highway One at Atiamuri, north of Taupo.
The driver of the truck was not injured. Inspector Ian Brooker said initial reports suggest the car crossed the centre line.
The section of road was closed for six hours but has now reopened.
