Fatal fire in Titahi Bay

One person died at the scene of a house fire in Titahi Bay, Porirua, just before 1am today.

Detective Senior Sergeant Michael Oxnam said police expected to release the name of the deceased later today, once family had been notified.

Mr Oxnam said a post-mortem examination would be carried out on Monday.

Investigators are conducting a scene examination to establish the cause of the fire.
