A digger has rolled and killed a worker near Te Awamutu.
Emergency services were called to the workplace on Te Kawa Road south of Te Awamutu at about 4.30pm today, Inspector Willie Taylor said.
A digger rolled over and crushed the driver, he said.
Police remained at the scene, but an investigation into the death would be handled by Occupational Health and Safety because it was a workplace incident, Mr Taylor said.
Details of the person killed would not be released until next of kin had been notified.
