Fatal crash victim named

Police have named an 18-year-old Canterbury man killed in a crash near Oamaru on Friday.

Tony Kelvin Wood, of Waimate was a passenger in a car which collided with a horse truck on State Highway 1, about 20km north of Oamaru, at 12.20pm.

The car's 19-year-old driver, also from Waimate, was flown to Dunedin Hospital with serious injuries.

The truck's two occupants suffered minor injuries and two horses on board were treated by a vet at the scene for slight injuries.
