The police serious crash unit is continuing its investigation after a man was killed and another seriously injured in a single vehicle crash in Palmerston North last night.
Police and emergency services were called to Pioneer Highway after the vehicle left the road about 11.26pm, Central Communications Inspector Ken Climo said.
The crash occurred about 100 metres south of Maxwells Line on State Highway 56, known as Pioneer Highway.
The driver died at the scene and his passenger suffered serious injuries, Mr Climo said.
The serious crash unit had completed its scene examination and was continuing its investigation.
