The man accused of killing two passengers when he crashed then fleeing police in the Auckland suburb of Onehunga can now be named.
Mangere East man Aaron Tony Tulafono, 20, appeared in Auckland District Court this morning.
Tulafono has been charged with two counts of manslaughter over the deaths of Jaycherre Penelope Makakea and Joseph Jack Tawhai in the September 17 crash.
Police have also laid five new charges including dangerous driving causing injury to Simone Pouka and Skye Ngatai.
He is also charged with failing to stop to check if anyone was injured, driving while disqualified and failing to stop for police.
His lawyer Marie Dyhrberg's bid for bail was declined by Judge Ongley because of fears he would reoffend before his trial in the High Court at Auckland, likely to be late next year.
