Fatal accident near Queenstown

A person has died following a motor vehicle accident near Queenstown.

A police spokesman said one person died after a pedestrian was hit by the vehicle on Arthurs Point Rd, about 7km north of the resort town.

Police and St John attended the accident at 10.15pm on Tuesday and the road was closed until shortly before midnight.

Emergency services were unable to disclose how many people were injured or if the deceased was the pedestrian or an occupant of the vehicle.
