Police have said a teacher's speeding tickets should not have been classified as convictions, which stopped her renewing her professional registration.
In August, the Teachers Council said it would not renew the Rotorua teacher's registration until she had explained why she had not declared her convictions.
The council enclosed a police traffic conviction list showing she had been fined for speeding four times and suspended from driving for three months for having too many demerit points.
But the police manager of licensing and vetting, Inspector Joe Green, said speeding fines were not convictions.
The title of the list was a "misnomer" that had been around for almost 30 years and the title would be changed, he said.
The teacher said she was delighted to hear her speeding tickets were not convictions and she had received her registration.
