Fast-food aficionados will be soon spoilt for choice when chowing down in Masterton.
Looming large on the takeaway-food horizon is a clutch of international tucker traders including KFC, Burger King and Domino's Pizza.
The first walls are up for the Burger King restaurant, which is set to open in late July on the corner of Lincoln Rd and Chapel St. KFC on southern Chapel St at Kuripuni is undergoing a major refit and will open its revamped doors in mid-June. Domino's Pizza will reopen when a new franchise-holder steps up to the hot plate.
About 40 jobs will be on offer at the Burger King restaurant on a site cleared from where the Bloomfield building formerly stood across the road from BK arch-rivals McDonald's restaurant.
Domino's Pizza, which closed last June after opening 11 months earlier, had sported the new-look design for branch outlets.
Domino's NZ general manager Ryan Bhom told the Times-Age last year the Masterton store would reopen once a franchise-holder had been found.
The KFC outlet in Kuripuni temporarily shut its doors in April to revamp the premises in line with a national upgrade that started in 2010. Up to 15 additional workers will be needed at the new-look operation.
