KEY POINTS:
Fast food chain McDonalds is converting its entire fleet of UK delivery lorries to run on biodiesel - made from the firms own cooking oil.
By 2008, all 155 McDonalds trucks will have undergone the conversion and run on a biofuel mix of rapeseed oil and chip fat.
It's the latest effort by the company to improve its image - McDonalds has been blamed for problems ranging from obesity to intensive farming.
The trucks won't make motorways smell like the bottom of deep fat fryers either, it should be hard to tell the difference between a bio and conventionally fuelled vehicle.
McDonalds insists the initiative is not a publicity stunt but admits that using biodiesel will cost more than conventional fuels.
