Fashion will fuel a fundraiser this weekend for Makoura College student Breeze Paul to help fly her to Brazil on an American Field Service scholar trip next year.
Miss Paul, 16, a photography student, was rapt to have been accepted to the programme which will take her to Brazil for six months. The sale of vintage and donated clothing at the school on Sunday, from 10am to 3pm, will launch a fundraising drive for her trip.
"I'm really looking forward to experiencing the culture and atmosphere of Brazil. The photo opportunities should be so colourful and varied, and it's got lots of cafes, which I just love."
Miss Paul needs to raise about $8000 and for the past few days has been ironing the best quality garments, and sorting the most chic shoes and accessories for Sunday's sale.
Teacher Jann Lenihan was helping organise the sale and said there was an abundance of vintage clothing, shoes, boots, and leatherware including jackets from top shelf Carterton manufacturer Jeffrey Chandel.
