Fashion label owner Jason Crawford was today denied bail when he reappeared in court over drugs charges.
In Auckland District Court, Crawford, 35, also faced 10 new charges of receiving stolen goods.
The new counts related to shipping containers at a property where he was found hiding when police raided it days after he was originally arrested.
He was remanded in custody for a pre-depositions hearing on February 16.
The owner of Insidious Fix, Crawford was first arrested last month and charged with cultivating cannabis and allowing premises in Onehunga to be used for the purpose of cannabis cultivation.
He was also charged with possessing equipment that could be used for cultivation.
He was granted bail, but breached a condition relating to reporting to police and was arrested again and remanded in custody.
Judge Caroline Henwood today declined Crawford's new application for bail.
She said his lawyer, Gary Gotlieb, had submitted that Crawford could be bailed on strict conditions.
These included wearing a security bracelet and being monitored by security staff to be paid for by Crawford.
She was also told that Crawford was needed to work equipment at a factory.
However, she noted that prosecutor Marc Corlett opposed the application, citing police concerns that Crawford could interfere with witnesses or remove property.
Mr Corlett had also raised the issue of the breach of bail and the further charges.
Judge Henwood said she believed the case was serious enough for bail to be declined.
