A Southland farm worker has died after he was trapped underneath a hay baler.
The 58-year-old was working on a farm near Centre Hill Rd, between Te Anau and Mossburn, on Saturday, the Southland Times reported.
Senior Constable Andy Grant of Te Anau police said the man was found trapped underneath the rear section of a large farm round hay baler.
A Department of Labour health and safety inspector will investigate the incident.
It has also been referred to the Coroner.
