A 73-year-old farmer has been freed from the crushed cab of a front end loader, which rolled on the man's farm north of Wellington today.
Emergency services were called to the property on Cannon Point Road in Totara Park about 10.15am, Senior Sergeant Marc Clausen of central police communications said.
The farmer was operating a front end loader that was moving gravel when it overturned.
The Fire Service freed the man, and he was flown by rescue helicopter to Wellington Hospital in a moderate condition.
It was unknown how long he was trapped in the crushed cab before emergency services were advised.
