Farmer falls 6m while tending stock

A Taumarunui farmer has suffered back and pelvis injuries after he fell down a 6m bank while inspecting stock this morning.

The 54-year-old man was treated at the scene, near Ongarue, 24km north of Taumarunui, and flown to Rotorua by helicopter, said Hendry de Waal, the pilot and base manager for the Youthtown Trust Rescue Helicopter.
