KEY POINTS:
The family of an Auckland mother who committed suicide while in the care of a mental health unit will this week demand to know how the tragedy occurred.
Brenda Moore, a 42-year-old social worker, was found dead on December 14 in the grounds of the Henry Bennett Centre at Waikato Hospital. At a coroner's hearing starting tomorrow in the Hamilton District Court, her family will highlight concerns about her death and those of other patients in the mental health system.
Brenda's sister Donna and friends throughout New Zealand and the Gold Coast will wear T-shirts printed with her photo during the inquest.
Donna has joined forces with Sally Fisher, whose son died while under mental health care in Auckland in 2006, to push for a full national inquiry into mental health care nationwide.
