The police Armed Offenders Squad was called out in Invercargill about 6am this morning after a man allegedly threatened two people with an imitation firearm during a domestic incident.
Police set up cordons around the property on Tramway Road about 6am.
The man was arrested without issue before the AOS arrived, Senior Sergeant Maggie Windle said.
The man, being held in custody, was due to appear in Invercargill District Court tomorrow charged with threatening to kill.
