Family ties come first for Cato

A new millennium is fast approaching. As we count down, the Herald is asking celebrities how they will celebrate the last hours of the old century and the first hours of the new.

Children's television presenter Suzy Cato will watch the fireworks over Auckland from the comfort of her living room on New Year's Eve.

She will spend the night with husband Steve and their families, who will come from Australia and around New Zealand to be together at their Auckland home.

"It is about catching up, talking and maybe a bit of singing," said Cato.

"I think it is important to spend any celebration with your family. We love sharing that time with our family."
