KEY POINTS:
The family of Lipine Sila, found guilty on Saturday on two counts of murder after he drove a car into partygoers on Christchurch's Edgeware Rd last year, have sent a message to the grieving families of the teenage girls he killed.
"Your sorrow is our shame and words are not enough," said Sinapati Sila, father of the 23-year-old.
Mr Sila fought back tears as he read the message during an interview on One News last night. His family told the broadcaster Lipine Sila was "very very sorry" for his actions.
Sila has been remanded in custody and will be sentenced on June 26.
